Tournaments
The final event of the golf season was held on Saturday, October 25 at the Club. The Annual Tough Day Tournament was held with 28 two person team. The team included men and women, with the men playing from the Blue tees, Men over 70 playing the Gold and the Ladies playing the Red tees. The Course was set up hard with pin postions on the various slopes and edges of the green and the tees set as far back as possible. the Format for the tournament included: holes 1-9 your our ball; holes 10-18 alternate shot with a combined total for the team.

The Annual Fall Classic, The Husband/Wife Tournament was held Sunday,, September 28 at the Club. Thirty five teams signed up to participated the 18 holes modified alternate shot format. The group teed off in foursome from number 1. Winners was awarded an engraved silver serving tray at the award presentation and dinner following the tournament. Winners included:

The Annual SCC Parent/Child Tournament was held Sunday, August 17th at the club. The Tournament is divided in different division based on the child age and sex.
Some 16 twosome competed in the event and the group either played 9 or 18 holes. the results are as follows:

The 2008 SCC Club Championship was held on Saturday and Sunday, August 9th and 10th. The Club Championship Tournament is a stroke play event held over two day and players are flighted by their individual handicaps. The 2008 Club Champion and winner of the Lucien Kinsolving Trophy was Danieal Iceman III . His two day total of 141, included a 66 on Saturday. The Club Championship has three different divisions: Mens Division, Sr Mens Division and the Ladies Division.

Over 100 golfers particpated in the Two Day Tournament. The next event is the Parent/Child Tournament on Suday August 17th at the Club.
The Tuesday Afternoon Jr Clinic Scramble was held Tuesday, July 29th. Six ,boys and girls, 4 person teams participated in the 9 hole scramble. The kids walked and played 9 holes while being suttled from green to tees.

The two teams tied after 9 holes of play and the tie was broken by USGA scorecard rules.

The SCC Jr Club Championship was held Friday, July 25th. A group of boys and girls competed in different age groups.

This Event will be open to all that participated in the weekly Jr Clinic this summer.
The Annual Shelbyville Country Club Member/Guest Tournament was held Saturday and Sunday, July 19th and 20th at the Shelbyville Country Club. The tournament included 43 two men teams playing four different 9 hole format. On Saturday, the teams played a scramble and an alternate shot (Chapman System) format, while, Sunday format included a Best Two Ball and a Combined score with 1/2 of the individual handicap format. The Teams were pre-flighted prior to the tournament into The US open, PGA, The British Open and The Masters Flights. A reception on Friday evening and a Dinner on Saturday evening was included for the member and their guests

The Championship Flight winner of the 2008 SCC Butterfly Invitational held Thursday, May 22nd at the Shelbyville Country Club was Carolyn Kinsolving. Some 80 ladies from the area participated in the 18 hole Golf Tournament. This is the 28th year for this event at the Club.
